ADDISON! |
Sabine (never heard of it until I moved here)
Hannah Ruby (my grandmother) My husband is advocating for Scout. Protogaonist in To Kill a Mocking Bird, but it sounds like a dog's name to me. |
I like Judy but doesn't Judith remind you of an old lady's name? |
The great thing about Scout is that it can be a nickname for any name! |
Big OC Housewives fan, I guess. |
I am the Judith poster -- no, I love the name. Reminds me of a (young) character in The Witch of Blackbird Pond (though she wasn't a very nice person). I don't like Judy at all -- I am not usually a nickname person -- and actually that sounds more old-fashioned to me. In any case, old lady names are coming back as people revive names from their grandparents and great-grandparents. My friends have picked some old-school names that are definitely not to our taste but we've started hearing them quite a bit from others as well -- names like Sadie or Abraham. Our choice for a girl probably would have been Helen after my grandmother, which is very old-fashioned, but we are having a boy this time. Fortunately we both like DH's grandfather's name, which is classic and has never gone out of style. We'll probably fight over the next one! |
