How long did that take?

3 years. 1 year for prereqs and 2 years for the nursing program. I did the prereqs that I needed while I was working. I then went to nursing school full time.

It must be a stressful job. I hope you are well compensated for it.

My father did years ago, and he regretted leaving the better pay and secure pension.

To the nurse... you could combine law and medicine by working as in house counsel for a hospital

BigLaw litigator is very stressful and often leads to a shorter life (check the obits, or look around at your firm) leaving anytime is a good thing, but most that I know who did relocated or took in house counsel.

I make okay money. Mid to high 5 figures. It's not Big Law money, but I love my job.

I guess it's stressful. It makes me tired. I am not stressed all the time the way I was in Big Law, though. I couldn't sleep when I was practicing law. I was stressed out all the time, regardless of whether I was at work or not. Nursing doesn't do that to me. I work my shift and I go home.

I could. I don't want to, though. I hated being a lawyer. It was a miserable job with miserable people representing miserable clients. Eff that.

I gave all my suits to a thrift store charity when I quit. It felt like I was taking off a chain.
