She has a couple of kids from her first marriage.

I assume that the boy is the one they have shown before on the show.

Anyway, what was with the many Salvation Army emblazoned boxes in every scene? Oddly, the SA was pixelated out, as most bam brands are. Anyone else see the boxes? I recall SA boxes in Robyn's kitchen, in Mari's house.

Are they SA recipients? The boxes remind me of what a food pantry client might receive...canned goods and cereals, etc.all packed in big boxes.

YES - I clearly saw the *new* (not -recirculated) Salvation Army boxes and wondered if they were "clients" (S/A calls the poor it services "clients"). Most S/A clients are on welfare. Most 2d/3rd/4th wives, et al., are on welfare as "single nonworking mom with children". That's why it was so important for Robyn to get a S.S. card (notice that) - so she could apply for welfare. All the wives after the first in compounds or other fundamental outpost are on welfare.

I think she already had a SS card. It was important for her to get her name changed to Cody's last name.

Also, if they're all on welfare as "single nonworking mom with children", how did they qualify for those huge-ass houses? This doesn't make sense.

This is exactly my point. If any mortgage should have gone thru it would have been Meri's since she is the only one legally married to Cody. Presumably (hah!) Cody has good credit. I suspect the T.V. show is funding the building of the houses. At one point in the last two weeks, one of the characters said their house was not ready because they were waiting for the "underwriter's" decision, which tells me someone is bankrolling these houses for the T.V. show.

I think her son is the older boy (13ish?) with aspergers.

The Jessop's are a huge family. It's one of maybe 3 major names in the flds so it doesn't mean anything that she married a Jessop. (There's a lot of intermarriage going on there) He could have also been a runaway like her.

Her secret was lame, it wasn't even a secret. She's talking about her virginity being a gift and it was supposed to be for Kody but she gave it to the wrong person. The person was her first husband and the father of her first 3 kids. She's an idiot

thanks. I missed that. I thought she had two small girls from the prior marriage.

Well this says that David Preston Jessop was her husband and that she had three children with him. Which makes her yaka yaka this evening rather silly. You can't be whining about your lost virginity after a marriage and 3 births.

Also, the relevance of the name Jessop is that there is a good chance she lived on a fundamentalist compound and an older husband was forced upon her (she did say her virginity was taken "by force" or something close to that). The compound girls are often "married off" or "placed" to the older men as young as 12. If she ran off, then she may not have a social security card. Her son may have been left behind or became one of the "lost boys" thrown off a compound. I don't recall at 13 year old boy being at their wedding or in any other scenes but maybe he was there - with 22 people, it's kinda hard to keep them all straight.

I seem to remember the dad not wanting him on the show. I think because of his being on the spectrum.

Well this is interesting. Talks about Robyn's debt of 34K which had to be cleaned up or reduced before the closings (remember how the agent nags Meri and the agent reminds her to call every day and ask if they can reduce the bill - I take that to mean she has lousy credit, can't pay for items, so is arguing with the credit card company to lower the outstanding debt). But, hey, this says that Kody has declared bankruptcy already with the three other wives.

she came into the family with a $34,000 debt that was from her prior marriage, part of that was to victorias secret, target, sears...goto youtube. and look for the commentary on it. IT IS all public record for you sleuths out there! Kody Brown has also claimed bankrupcy with first 3wives so far. 2010 as for recent. was also getting foodstamps while filming last year. interesting stuff...

Did a bit of sleuthing. Robyn married David Preston Jessop on Dec. 1999. Her son, Dayton, was born March 7, 2000, so she indeed was pregnant when she married David Jessop. David and Robyn went on to have more children. David Preston Jessop fled for divorce in 2007, so they were married @ 8 years. I have not yet found Jessop's birthday so so don't know his age, but he claims it was a monogamist realtionship. Dayton is now 13. When Jody married Robyn, she had $34,000 in debt (much from Victoria Secret) and three aliases. No wonder her credit was poor.

I just don't understand how they have had so many seasons and aren't financially successful. It seems like every other "reality" show star has a spin-off show, book, successful clothing line, wine, etc. I just don't understand why it is so difficult for the sister wives. I would think that there are many people who have business/creative backgrounds who could actually start and run something with just the sister wife brand attached to it. Are they against that?

They have a jewelry line called My Sisterwifes Closet

Robyn was 21 in 1999

I know they have a jewelry line but it is not successful. most of the pieces are ugly and don't look like they are worth $150. Why don't they have a professional designing the jewelry for them and then they can pick what they like. Those women have no business designing jewelry.
