This. I would happily go. This restaurant owner is just reminding parent's what used to be common sense 30 years ago.

How do they define child? Anyone under 18? Are they going to check ID?

I would go and prefer it for no kid dinners. I would do a kid hour and ban after 7 pm.

The rules of the private establishments are the same as the rules of one's home.I don't want kids in my house, they don't want kids in their house.
If you insist on changing the rules, why not also bring your own sushi, serve yourself and also tip yourself.

It is absolutely legal in housing - over 55+ communities and adults only housing is all over the place. There are also adults-only hotels and resorts. It's a private restaurant and business and the owner can restrict entry based on age just like a bar or nightclub.

You can form senior communities. You cannot form communities that exclude families.

Correct. Senior communities are the major exception to fair housing laws and the rules are very specific. You cannot have a new kids building that is not specifically an over 55 community, that would be discrimination on the basis of familial status. As a PP mentioned, restaurants do not have the same burden.

I would definitely go to a No Kids restaurant.

(A New Kids restaurant? Pictures of Donnie Wahlberg and Jordan Knight on the walls? The Right Stuff playing on an endless loop? No freakin' way.)

Count me IN!!!! I love kids and I love my quiet nights out with the hubby.

Mom of a 4-year-old. I don't like sushi, but I totally support this concept. We go out to eat a lot and she's well-behaved 95% of the time, but there are plenty of places I wouldn't take her.

Hell, I'd support child free airplane flights if they existed. It's nice not to have to hear other people's kids when I'm not with my own kid.

I hate sushi but that's the only reason I wouldn't go.

Is this a real question? Yes. A thousand times yes.

I hate sushi, but I might consider going there expressly for the "no kids" atmosphere!

PP here. LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the child free after 8 PM idea. There are too many cultures where not only do small children do no wrong by terrorizing fellow patrons, but they are also awake at ungodly hours.
