I don't think the sweetheart was necessary (because I am not a sweetheart), but I'll concede that you're right about the traffic example. It looked wrong to me, but you're totally right and that page was very informative.

It's not right because it's part of a song; the "if I were a rich man" line just helps me remember how to do it correctly (because the dude is obvioulsy not rich, and that's when you use "were"). But congrats on being kind of a jerk. Good for you.
