S/o Do you think people confuse Trader Joes with health food?

Whole Foods has lots of junk too. Anything processed, regardless of the source, will not be a healthy choice.

To TJ's credit, though, they do have excellent grass-fed ground beef for cheaper than WF.

Then you should know better than anyone else that TJs produce sucks and that this is a universally known fact.

Might depend on the TJ's. TJ's in Alexandria actually tends to have really fresh produce.

I have friends who would never go to the local grocery store because...anyway, with TJ and Whole Foods they feel like the right type of person goes there.

Hate to tell you this, but folks who shop at Whole Foods actually don't tend to shop at Trader Joe's.

why all the hate for Trader Joes?

TJ's has lots of healthy foods -- organic, all natural, no gmo's etc. And it's far cheaper than Whole Foods, sometimes for the exact same brand product. I shop there all the time, never go to Giant. I buy produce mostly at the farmer's market, but TJ's has decent produce where I live. I think it's a great chain, but it's not a "health food" store.

Thank you OP! Can't understand why people like Trader Joe's. All processed crap! And the one in Bethesda, on Wisconsin Ave, is filthy and disgusting. Reminds me of my bodega days living in Brooklyn- except the bodegas had better prices.
