| Does anyone know if there was a hiring freeze at the SEC as a result of the shutdown? |
There was not. |
| Ok how about this then...if you applied...had a second interview...heard nothing past the decision date...assuming I didnt get the job would I receive a rejection letter? |
| OP I have never received a rejection letter from any government agency or department that I've applied to.... |
The better question is why haven't you followed up with them? It demonstrates interest and you get your answer. |
| No I did...I called shortly there after and heard nothing.... |
Who did you call? HR is pretty worthless. I assume you got business cards/contact information for the people you interviewed with right? Try calling them, if they liked you hopefully they'll try to push to get you an answer, even if it ends up being no. |
What Division did you interview with? |
| Anyone heard from the enforcement (investigative side not trial unit) position that closed on 9/30? |
I'm pretty sure those positions were filled (or at least offers were made) before the announcement even closed. |
Really, what the point of posting then. It was only open from 8/7/13 to 9/30/13. If you didn't apply on the first day, you weren't considered? |
That's almost a two month time span. If you applied before the last day or two, you were considered. The hiring process is moving much faster these days. Because of the budget issues they needed to make offers by 9/30. |
| Yea I never dealt with anyone from HR, 1st interview was with a staff, a manager, and director...second interview was with a regional director. This was for an examiner position. I called the director and sent an email. I dont think I got the position but some status is always appreciated so I can move on. |
Really then why did the office of business operations and management send out an email on September 20 about the enforcement position that closed september 30? |
Maybe because the HR office that generates those reminder emails isn't actually involved in hiring decisions? |
