Rich, Gingrich and crazy rich
Which presidential candidate paid the most in taxes? Who is the most charitable?
Here's an inside look at the top candidates' 2010 income tax returns.

I look at that $20k in alimony from Newt's return and I just shake my head. Those greedy exes.

It's sad that I gave more in charitable contributions than Newt Gingrich. What a loser, the dude made so much more than I did.

huh?

as in percent of your income or you donated the same amount in dollars?
81K? really?

This is misleading it's capital gains not income. The money was already taxed.

FLAT Tax all at 15% problem solved. No deduction even for the poor.

When was that?

What problem does that solve, exactly? Certainly not the national debt problem. Or the wealth inequality problem.

So less money and hungry children. Good job!

My big criticism is that IF you want to be POTUS, you have to pay taxes.
I would have not flinched to hear the numbers if he planned to retire, but the man is balsy enough to try to run for prez AND not pay taxes. What's next?

kerry pays a lower rate than romney. On another note remember when everyone thought hillary was a sure bet for the nomination? I am seeing deja vu on the republican side. Exciting vs drab (Obama vs Hillary) (Newt vs Ronmey)

Kerry's wife pays a lower rate than Romney. Kerry and his wife file separately and Kerry pays a considerably higher rate. Common sense would tell you that Kerry has a salary and, as such, couldn't get away with a 15% rate. Regardless, Kerry was criticized for his wealth and portrayed as being out of touch. Plus, he lost.

In the immortal words of Barney Frank, I haven't lived a good enough life for Gingrich to be the Republican nominee.

Obama is:

a) a person who lacks any sort of faith;
b) a Muslim; or
c) a member of a racist anti-white church.

Please pick one and stick with it. It's tiring trying to keep up with your contradictions.

Mormon church is a cult. Mitt Romney is not a Christian
Mormonism has a racist past. Restrictions on blacks being able to serve as priests etc

one more thing to add, I really think that Obama and other politicians who favor high taxes also probably make themselves look like they pay high taxes for political reasons not because it makes sense.

And I would bet dollars to donuts that Romney paid a much lower rate in prior years. He closed down his shelters partway into 2010.

Obama's earnings were mostly ordinary income - his book and his job. Therefore he pays a higher rate. If he didn't, he would probably be breaking the law. He doesn't get to decide his tax rate any more than you do.

I'm thinking PP is the same person who feels in his/her heart that Obama would promote true socialism if he weren't handcuffed. You gotta go with your gut on these things.
