Big or small school for academic "Chad"

I'm glad he has the square jaw. No matter where he goes, he won't have to get plastic surgery later. Phew.

OP, this is a case where your "Chad" will benefit from self reflection -- this is his own personal journey of self discovery. Should be. And you can't do it for him.

Agree with post upthread - reminds me of Trump talking about his daughter. This mom has a crush on her son. Feel bad for dad. Unless she is picturing son while servicing dad.

Visited Davidson and Wake not too long ago. This kid would be happy at Wake. Would be miserable at Davidson.

UVA would also do well, though when the actual lax bros are pulling the chicks and out-chadding him, it might hurt his precious ego.

Chads encountering Gigachads is just part of the circle of life unfortunately.

Even Clavicular got mogged by the ASU frat leader.

I am so glad that Swarthmore, where DD goes, will be of no interest to this Chad!!

Wow, it doesn't seem like many people read the OP's request to avoid nasty comments. What do DCUMers have against popularity and traditional masculinity?

I understand very little of this sentence. I need a Gen Z translator.

Seriously? Critical reading skills would be helpful here.

No problem with the kid.

Mom? Good grief. Where do we start? Perhaps the intersection of troll and lack of self awareness?

This is going to become a DCUM classic!

I don’t want to be mean OP but are you for real?

A young man known for red pill content is not as muscular as an ASU fraternity member who is popular on social media.

+1 I remember seeing the formerly popular, confident kids from my high school walking around UVA and being surprised at how completely unremarkable they seemed in a new environment.

DP. My son was part of the popular crowd in high school. When he came home for Thanksgiving freshman year and reconvened with his buddies, I noticed two distinct camps. The first camp, the one that included my son, consisted of kids who had pledged a house. They were loving college and dishing out story after story about all the fun they were having on campus, where they walked around like veritable gods. The kids in the second camp hadn't pledged, expecting, I guess, for their high school popularity to carry them through the college social scene, which is, of course, delusional. They were exactly as you describe: shellshocked by their sudden irrelevance to their peers. They spent the weekend wistfully dredging up stories from the good old days of high school. Before my son returned to campus on Sunday, he mentioned that he had noticed the difference, too, and told me what a great decision it had been to pledge.

How embarrassing that you felt the need to recount that.

+1. This is a ridiculous conclusion. There are plenty of kids on college campuses enjoying themselves who opt out of the Greek system. DS had zero interest in going Greek because it wasn’t his scene. He had plenty of friends and still went to parties and bars.
