Exams the last week of school?

A number of the high schools exempt seniors from taking exams if they do the 2 week internship before graduation. Seniors who don't do it stay in school and take their exams before graduation.
The term internship should be interpreted loosely. It's an opportunity for kids to help out and/or observe at a local business. Some kids go back to their elementary schools to help out, some get opportunities with small businesses, some do observations and things like filing at small accounting/law/medical practices.
The kids arrange them on their own and get them approved.

+1 If they have a part time job or summer job lined up they be there as well. So if they work at Giant as a cashier they can go in and shadow the manager and learn inventory. If it’s a new summer job they can get a jump on the job. It doesn’t have to be life changing. Just something to keep them out of trouble and useful.
