I had a 2.8 and a 27 on the ACT from a top private in Charlotte and I’m 30 now, and out earn many of my friends who went to Vandy/ Wake/ UNC. Got in Clemson, USC, TCU, UT, College of Charleston, Auburn , and went to one of their and had a great experience. Have things changed that much?

Yes.

This is the problem with your top private and the money you spent there. What a sham.

Yes I went to one of those and no I was not hooked. I wasn’t the only kid with those test scores and grades from my school who had good results

Test optional universities along the same line of schools, so that she can focus on the rest of her strengths and keep her grades up.

Those scores will not get you into Clemson, UT, Auburn or USC in the current admissions environment. Maybe Charleston. I don’t know about TCU these days. Sorry, poster, but the world has changed in the 12 years since you applied to college. My son was 3.3 or so last year from a DC area private and was waitlisted at the schools I said are a no. He got into Charleston and considered it seriously.
