| OP, have you never seen a soap opera? OBVIOUSLY, when she talks to you, you say, “I’m sorry, but I have amnesia. Could you please remind me how we know each other?” |
| If you feel like it’s too late to ask the full question, maybe you could get away with part of it … like a “gee, how long ago was it we first met?” Then she might say “well, the kids were in preschool so I guess 7 years now!” My guess is preschool since she knows your kid and their kid is one year behind — she may have red shirted her kid after preschool or it may be that the year breaks were different in preschool (like they had a 3-4/ classroom). Especially if she has some fondness for your kid, it may be that your kid was the slightly older or more mature child that was kind to her child in preschool so her kid talked about yours at home. |
| My other guess is that she worked at your kids pediatricians office. |
| Bus stop, preschool, or kid activity? |

This has happened to me thrice.
First one was at a dinner 2 years ago, we looked at each other, nodded and knew we knew each other. I went to find her half way through dinner( buffet dinner so could walk around) and she had left by then. Couple of months ago I ran into her at the local grocery store, turns out she is a parent of my student that I used to be friendly with. I asked her point blank… where did we meet?It wasnt awkward at all. The other 2, I haven’t figured out yet and I just saw them from a distance. I am in mid 50s and this recent syndrome is scary. I need to ask my dr at next visit. |
Great idea |
| Ask her for her email address |
This happened to me too. DH’s bff lost over 100lbs and I said “ nice to meet you” when we all went out and i proceeded to apparently talk to him for the first time ever now that he wasn’t fat and is actually quite good looking |
