| As a fellow runner, that's awesome. Good luck, OP!! |
No, direct quote from the King James version of the Bible. |
Once you hit your 50s it actually makes a huge difference. In your 20s/30s, drinking is great. |
| Congrats to those who have made a healthy change this month, and I hope it might be the start of an entirely new lifestyle — by taking it one day at a time. I can’t imagine making such a change (with my diet, for example) and having a bunch of jerks commenting that I’m acting holier than thou. People reach out for support, connection, and confirmation of the positives they are noticing. I say way to go! And I hope to find your strength as I embark on my own health goals! |
I agree for my $. PP was talking about a work event though. |
| I just hope we can just get everybody under 30 to stop thinking they need to drink a quart of water per hour. A lot of college students look like they are prepared for a trek across Death Valley. |
+1. It's so performative. But it's not just college kids, I see middle aged professionals in the office, on Zooms, in traffic, at school pickup with them. Is it midwits trying to project how fit and clean they're living? Honestly, I think it's like a monkey see, monkey do bandwagon trend that's turned into an addiction for people. They look like toddlers who can't leave home without their sippy cup and blanky.

| My face depuffed in 2 days! |
| I stopped drinking last June. My sleep is terrible and I've probably gained 20 lbs. BUT... I'm clearheaded and present, for my kids. So there's that. Oh, and I've saved $$$ |

Hey, we made it! Not a single drop of alcohol I’m January and…
I feel zero difference. <shrug> |
Is this OP? Either way--how old are you? And how much did you drink on average before? |
I don't know why people are so judgemental about this. I don't drink alcohol anymore. But being alcohol free is kind of a drag at times at events or a nice dinner. I enjoyed cocktails for more than their alcohol content. What do you care if I spend money for a similar experience without the alcohol? |
|
OP, I feel you. I get some hip pain amd night cramps when I drink. I have syopped for a few weeks and it has gome away.
However, my better aleep btings dreams and nightmares. I don't really like dreaming. Last night, it was a good dream that turned into a crazy rescue. I jumped in after a car that went off a dock into a lake and pulled a girl out alive. I had to rewrite that dream when I woke up yo an ending where we never yook the turn onto the dock. |
Are you by chance substituting alcohol with chocolate? That will give vivid dreams. |
My face depuffs when I drink. Alcohol is a diuretic. It also makes my face more relaxed. And the rest of me, too. Highly recommend it. |
