If that’s true, which I highly doubt that PP’s daughter won’t have an issue getting in. No girls would because they would try to balance the classes.

It is true that the upper school has more boys, but not by a significant amount. It's not an issue at all with my daughter. She has a mix of boys and girls in all of her classes.

I did notice this on our tour of the Bullish middle school. There was a science class that was entirely boys. I asked the tour guide about it who couldn't give a good answer.

Ugh. That's crazy. We are applying our rising sixth grade daughter and I feel like I need to know more now. I'm going to call the admissions office and see if I can get more info. I'll report back.

Just spoke with someone in admissions. They said there are 112 girls and 121 boys over the three grades in the middle school. Relieved for my DS who is very excited about Bullis that it seems pretty even.

Glad to see real stats here. Our DD is in middle school there and it seems pretty even to me, but I didn’t know the actual numbers. The claim is was overwhelmingly boys is obviously false.

I'm not affiliated with Bullis or Potomac (though we are looking into Bullis for MS for our daughter who is currently in 4th grade in small school). BUT: the above stats just show - go and check out the schools yourself. See for yourself. This board is so useful in many ways. But when it comes to facts like this, or real lists, or very school-specific questions, I just want to see for myself. That's just me. Thanks everyone!

This has not been our experience at all. Our daughter has lots of other girl friends at Bullis and has a good mix of boys and girls in her classes. She is very happy there. It's true that there are more boys than girls in the upper school, but we haven't found it to be an appreciable difference. At least, not one that has affected her education or overall experience.

My daughter goes to a Bullis feeder (about 50% of the class go to Bullis) and the students at her current school have serious behavioral issues. So I’m inclined to believe the original post about bullying. It is one of the reasons we didn’t apply to Bullis for high school. We already knew some of the kids that would more than likely be at Bullis and it is a major red flag for us.

Your school sends 50% of the 8th grade class to Bullis?? Unless your daughter's grade has only around 24 kids in total, your math seems to be off.
