Yes. There is evidence that Maxwell's supporters (attorneys and relatives) have been strategically leaking information about the Epstein case on Maxwell's behalf in order to have bargaining chips in their effort to get Trump to commute her sentence.

Exhibit B: The NYT story that is the subject of this thread refers to an email exchange between Epstein and Maxwell which suggests that Trump knew what Epstein was up to. The speculation is those emails came from Maxwell's camp. And that their purpose is to turn up the heat on Trump in order to grant her clemency. These leaks also contain an indirect warning: Commute my sentence soon or I will leak more damning info about you.

You could be absolutely right about Maxwell being a venal snake, because she is a venal snake. She’d have access to her own emails, although maybe not to the exchange between Epstein and Wolff.

But I’ve read House Oversight dems have these files because they subpoenaed Epstein’s estate. Also, these emails make Maxwell look terrible, so as a threat they’d seem to leave her and her appeal for clemency flapping in the wind.

Possible, if the GOP learned a lesson from November 4 elections. This is an escalating scandal and the more they cover for Trump the more likely more than a few will be defeated in 2026.

The lesson of Watergate is that's it's the cover up that always bites you in the derriere. Republicans are either too stupid or choking on their hubris.
