I hate going so far into June in option A!

That's the trade off - start a week earlier and lose time this summer, or end a week later in June. I think the earlier start this year is worse for teachers, because they have to be back August 17.

Yes and they get out a week earlier in B and C. Not sure what the issue is. Get these kids into school in August, no one learns diddly after Memorial Day.

People who say oh well and it’s the norm likely have a remote job or at least a flexible schedule. Teachers and students have neither.

Are you kidding me?! 5 day weeks are absolutely the norm.

Ask why September 11 and April 21 are off? Rosh Hashana is on Saturday 9/12 and they should not be commemorating 25 years since 9/11. April 21 looks like a random Wednesday off.
Request that they replace 2 if not all 3 of the Q1/Q2/Q3 quarter end days with two half days each. Yeah short days might drive you crazy but with Maryland law's 180 calendar day requirement they can end a day earlier for each quarter grading day that is replaced with half days. If they do all of this they can go August 31-June 15 or 16.

Taylor said tonight he's likely to recommend Draft C, and Silvestre agreed, so seems like that's what it'll be when they vote on it on 12/11.

Sept 11 is close to Labor day and close to beginning of school year. Instead give students and teachers three days between quarters.
