| If I'm the "friend" you're out with and I see you order a meal for your "sick" spouse, I'm gonna start wondering what sort of sick and think she's faking to avoid socializing. Grabbing something on the way home if you know you don't have food at home is appropriate, like a quick grocery stop for bananas, applesauce, 7-up/ginger ale... But ordering takeout from the restaurant in front of the friends she bailed on is a bit gauche, and suggests she may be "sick" of seeing them. Don't do that. |
