It's not at WIS.
It's the charter school DC International School (DCI). |
Exactly. The fakest, meanest, most striver family from our NCRC class sent their kids there. “Luisana, can we have a play date please” |
| One of my uber wealthy friends sent her children to WIS + they've done quite well. Her family is " name on a building rich" + she could care less about "Big 3" or whatever. She is just very happy that her kids are tri-lingual. |
IMHO not worth it education-wise it’s just ok except the language training, socially and prestige-wise deep bench not worth the investment. No sports. Small in high school. Just meh. |
Hahaha Fair point |

| It seems like there's a lot of confusion on here about Washington International School (WIS - an excellent private school) versus DC International School (DCI - a charter school). They are two very, very different institutions. |
This poster must be confused about which school is being discussed. Just look up the WIS soccer teams online . . . |
STAY away from WIS. |
| The French side is more heavily IMF than Spanish. If one of the parents is IMF and not born in America, that family pays 25% of the tuition. In my child's upper elementary class that was between a third and half of the families. This is neither good nor bad—but I find it bizarre that it's so controversial when a quick googling of a class list can confirm it. |
| In our brave new world with nearly limitless information at our fingertips, I think what matters most is the ability to think clearly, adapt quickly, and create thoughtfully. I have several kids at WIS, and have been impressed by how effectively they have learned to present ideas and respond in real time, switching seamlessly between languages. And the fabulous newly-updated campus doesn't hurt either. Highly recommended! Ignore the crazed troll who seems to be confused, into the bargain, about which school this is. |
The class list provides parents' employment? |
| Some of the posters here do not make sense and are confusing WIS with another school. Please stop. WIS is a terrific, highly rigorous school for top minds that can handle the most difficult high school diploma there is to obtain though the International Baccalaureate program. The soccer team is top notch and won the championship this year. The girls varsity volleyball team won the championship this year, there is cross country and top kids in tennis and basketball. So not confuse WIS with DC International . If you have questions go for a tour and see and ask those directly to the WIS administration. We have three children that have gone through WIS and it was worth the investment. |

"Elitism" does not really seem to apply to a student body that is selected for its ability to handle the dual language IB program, and not at all for the connectedness of its parents. |
