Could you share your thoughts on this weird teenager?

Yes, I talked to him in grade 11 and in grade 12. And he did not change much. He was still very opinionated and adamant.

No, I wasn't interested in him romantically.

You think this is funny for some reason? I was being serious when I wrote this post.

Your over the top reactions are pretty funny. You seem to have some odd social skills.

Her responses definitely remind me of my autistic sister. You wouldn't really suspect her if having autism until she's in situations where she can't really understand why people are thinking or reacting a certain way. Her responses would be pretty similar to OP.

I also think OP is weird although I am not from either background.

Who fixates on this for years?

In all seriousness, OP. He trolled you hard for years. You could be relied on to add levity to his day by giving gravitas to mundane things and off-hand attempts at sarcasm. Hopefully, knowing that, you can now move on. Don’t act this way with coworkers, neighbors, or your kids’ friends.

Why on earth are you still thinking about these relatively minor incidents with a mildly eccentric person?

I don't understand why people are being so hard on OP. She clearly remembers a lot of detail about minor incidents from 10 years ago but that doesn't mean she's been thinking about the kid all this time. Maybe she only heard about him recently at her 10-year reunion and it brought back memories from high school.

That's true. I don't think about him often. But I just happen to have that kind of memory where I retain lots of details about how people have reacted or what they have said. So I don't think people should be coming down hard on me.

You should seek a diagnosis. You’re on the spectrum.

I can tell you because I've been in his shoes and behaved in the same way:

1. First he was stunned at your ghastly display of smugness.

2. Then he found it amusing to give you the audience you evidently craved so much.

3. And he repeated the act several times because it became clear to him that you had limited cognitive abilities, an obsessive personality and a need to impress others with your so-called superior knowledge. He knew you had pegged him as an mouth-breathing idiot from the sticks, so he played that role.

4. He is not the idiot, you are. And you're still obsessing over it. Hmm, now I'm wondering if the person I knew who acted in the same way with me is still obsessing over my surprised and impressed demeanor. How delicious if he is

This is the answer and my thought as soon as I read the post. OP he was playing you and acting.

Really unfortunate that you’re a parent, OP. I feel awful for the other kids, teachers, and parents that have to orbit your pathologies. Maybe some will see this and know to avoid your household at all costs.

Autism and OPs parents turned a blind eye. Typical Asian tigers
