Dartmouth was 72% this year. They did not go to the waitlist.
Penn down to 68% this year.
Columbia down to 61%.

Not every single college's 2029 yield rates have been shared yet. It looks like OP used 2028 yield rates because that's the only complete set.

OP here - you are correct and thank you! Not all yield results for 2029 have been released yet.

If you’re going to include West Point and not Annapolis or Air Force it makes your list sus.

The academies don’t do ED and the admission decisions don’t even happen until you have a Congressional Nomination and get through all the physical requirements.

It’s a very different process compared to other schools. Include or don’t include. But if you’re going to include West Point, you should include the other academies.

And it still won’t be useful because it’s so unique. No other schools require Senators and Congresspeople to be on your side before they even read your application.

This. Plus, a service academy appointment is one of the few reasons that you can break an ED commitment to another school.

Ha. They have ED 2 in addition to ED 1 and they fill almost their entire class with binding ED1/ED2…ummm of course that makes a high yield they have to go.

Which means the applicant accepted the spot because it was the choice they wanted. That's what yield is.

Usually applicants who cannot get into better places use the ED option for Chicago. If a student is top 20 to 30% in their private school, Chicago is a great option. Most kids who are top 5% will not want to apply to Chicago. This is how it is at our private school. If you look at Harvard Westlake data you can see that Chicago accepts kids in 3.7 gpa range. I think the public school kids at Chicago are higher ranked in their schools.

Ranked #6 in the nation. There aren't enough "better places" for your math to make sense.

Is it the same U of Chicago booster who is all over these threads, snootily claiming their experience was vastly better than anyone else's?

Get the service academies out of there.

Extremely niche schools.

There's only one service academy on this Top 21 list. So if you take the Naval Academy out, you still have a great top 20.

I do agree these 20 with the highest yield are among the "most wanted" in my DC's class.

If its ranked #6, why have ED0, 1, and 2. Look at the Harvard Westlake data.

They take everyone through ED0, ED1 and ED2. It’s all binding. They have to yield lol

ED0 is ingenious, why in hell would anyone want to wait this out to go to a lesser than school....>#6...and Duke isn't for all, my kid spent some time and Duke and said no way. Different strokes. Let's get some perspective. ED0 is actually a blessing to our kids who don't have to be riddled with anxiety for an entire year.

The snobbery on this thread is unreal. Posters here would say "oh, great school!" to your face when they hear your kid is attending Chicago but "must not be good enough for Ivies!" behind you back.

There are eight Ivies and Chicago is ranked higher than five of them. Now just imagine Chicago parents looking at your Ivy darling and telling everyone they must not be good enough for Chicago.

Do you bash the Sox or the Cubs when they win?

Chicago booster, please go away. You are beyond tiresome.
