If your teen girls are roaming your neighborhood Saturday nights

Ding dong ditch was always fun!

My teen girls don't go out like this. But what on earth do you think will happen to teens whose faces are recognizable on camera? Do you imagine they will be branded with a scarlet letter? Are you going to call police and how much do you think they will laugh at you? Are you going to send Ring video stills to the school you think they attend? To the colleges you believe they are applying?

Those annoying little blighters are smarter than you. They know you can't do anything.

OP is the type of person who is posting these girls' pictures on NextDoor. My daughter would never do this, but as a parent, I would be so pissed if you posted my child's picture on NextDoor for all the freaks to see.

NP, well your precious kid shouldn’t be ding dong ditching if they don’t want their picture posted on NextDoor. I have zero problem with people who’ve caught kids doing this on Ring cam posting the pic. Trying being pissed at your kid for acting like an a-hole.

Same. Your kid does something dumb and I catch it on my camera it goes to Next Door. Especially if they do the same thing more than once. Not my fault you raised a dummy. And also I provide it to the police as well.

It might not work, but have you tried making it more difficult to access your front door on Saturday nights? Kids want to run up, ring the bell, and make a quick getaway. If you have several lawn chairs or something blocking access, they might move on to another house where there’s less hassle. Obviously, they shouldn’t be doing this and you shouldn’t have to fortify your property, but it might be a cheap, easy deterrent.

Put a fake but very realistic looking $100 bill on the ground by the doorbell. Or plant a wallet with lots of fake money and a fake id in it. You too can have fun with these little brats.

Parent shouldn’t be letting their kids on TikTok.

From today’s NYT: Boy Shot During ‘Ding Dong Ditch’ Prank in Texas
The police in Houston detained a person after a 10-year-old boy who had knocked on a door was shot on Saturday night, officials said.

Came here to say this…. It’s not the world we grew up in. There’s nothing nice about doing this and sadly it has ended in tragedy.

Ding dong ditch was and will always be fun and every generation will do it and it will bother 10% of the people and the other 90% will be like “ah I remember those days”

When remote controls first came out for Comcast, my friends and I used to go to windows and turn off their TV’s. Good times

And I grew up in New Jersey. Mischief Night would send DCUM and Next Door into another dimension. LOL

I’m now probably the same age as he was and have to give him props for his cardio fitness-he pursued us like terminator for probably a quarter mile all while wearing a bathrobe and slippers.

Clearly we were a—holes but it was definitely fun.

OMG! This is hilarious!

You were a brat and your parents needed serious parenting classes. Not ok.

If I see it happening I’ll mace them. Quick spray out a window.

It’s hilarious that someone thinks college recruiters will uniformly judge a student negatively based on this. Job recruiters also.

Even if they could make that happen, only an AH thinks that’s a proportional response.

Your brat disturbing us is not funny. Learn some parenting skills and teach your kids to behave.
