I've never been bored in my life. I'm naturally an excitable person, and while that has its drawbacks, it does mean that trivial things have an outsized effect on me and it's great. |
Boring is good. It’s actually very very good. Be thankful and give prayers every day that your life stays boring.
That you’re not struggling with medical or family issues to add drama to your life. Or That you don’t have the excitement of losing your home to war and moving to a country with no resources, no friends or relatives, just your kids and the clothes you’re wearing (lucky enough if you have your documents and diplomas). It’s not possible to live in a state of constant excitement, because at some point everything becomes routine and boring. Keep repeating: boring is good and be thankful for the boring |
I hear you, OP. Have you tried mindfulness? It’s helped me enormously. So has re-reading “Walden”. The responses here have also helped—very good reminders that boring is better than the alternatives. |
+1 in the last 2 weeks I’ve been diagnosed with uterine cancer and my dad died. The older I get the more I appreciate that the boring days are the ones when we can truly life. The warm sun, a bird chirping, a perfectly made coffee. |
I'm very happy and doing great. One kid in college the other a rising HS senior. Married to the same person for three decades. Thank God every morning for allowing me to be here. The day starts humbly and branches out from there. Not every day is exciting, but you can find spots of each day that are meaningful. |
