Perhaps you should vote for different candidates at the state level.

I can testify to the fact that sometimes you vote, but the person you vote for loses. Have you considered this unlikely scenario?

Ah but in this case we won’t be voting again so that changes how we handle what to do with cash

I'm donating my Trump tax cut to PBS.

If anyone feels their taxes are too low, feel free to send your money to the Treasury to reduce the public debt. They will happily accept your money at any time. They even take Venmo now!

I’m going to file my taxes via turbo tax. And I’m not going to overthink it. I have no idea if we’ll get more back.

It was actually a "look at this Washignton Post article, let's discuss" thread.

Does anyone have a gift link?

You can voluntarily overpay or voluntarily not claim deductions you’re entitled to, though. For instance, if you disagree with raising the SALT limit, you don’t have to deduct yours.

I do not and have never gotten a tax break from the tax “cuts.” I make between $800 and 2.0 million.

The next round of tax “cuts” should tax lawyers and consultants at 90% instead of small business owners like me.

This. Nobody is giving us anything. They MAY just take less of our money than they used to. Why would I give the government more of my hard earned money to waste?

If you have programs in mind that you feel are worthwhile and underfunded then nobody is stopping you from donating your money to those causes.

If you live in America this is a government of, by, and for the people, and the decisionmakers who write tax law are entirely elected by the people. And we spend more than we take in in revenue, and have for almost all of the past 80 years, so no one has been paying their share at current tax rates or past tax rates or proposed tax rates. Just shut up.

All the blue voters here who have $5 million net worth need to pay out their fare share of taxes. You dont need a million dollar house, private school for your kids, and to spend your whole retirement traveling while there are people living paycheck to paycheck

Why not? I’ll gladly take the $10k saving from the SALT ceiling raise.
