Do thinner people feel more righteous

Anonymous
Sometime ago, someone on here posted that once you reach middle age having a great body is the biggest status symbol there is. That has always stayed with me.

To all these above PP - thin people do NOT have digestive issues. In fact, according to medical science, overweight people have more digestive and other health issues

I’m thin because I workout at 6am before work, eat healthy, and walk 2 miles a day after work

Thinner people likely have completely different microbiome/gut flora than fatter people. You are thin because you do those things you listed, AND because you lucked into some genetics and resources that facilitate your thinness. Don't get smug.

I don't have thin genetics, in fact I was 30 lbs heavier 7 years ago. It takes to change one's lifestyle. But I certainly have fewer medical issues now at 20 BMI than when I was 27 BMI

Also people are completely leaving adverse childhood events and how that plays a role in obesity levels.

They have poor cardiovascular health and super low muscle tone but they feel like they look like a deserving, disciplined, hard-working athlete.
It’s hilarious!

I’m slightly overweight despite exercise and eating very healthy. I’m not going to do ozempic, but I have zero judgment for those who do. The people I know who have lost in GLP1s are relieved, not self righteous.

The men are vain as F.
Coworker looks in the mirror every time he passes. He never used to do that.
He intends to never go off his $550/mos wepbound, nor work out or stop his coffee and Diet Coke addictions

52 yo male still with 6 pack abs. I would say mostly genetics because I do like alcohol and food, but my parents and siblings while not obese are chubby. I simply enjoy exercising. While my siblings might exercise its a chore they do not gain weight.
I think ozempic is great because we do have an obesity problem in the US.
Slightly smug I guess

Hola peeps! Just got back from crushing a 2 hour road ride. I’m currently jogging in place while I reward myself with a kale chip and check my Garmin for PR’s.

I don’t look down my nose at anyone (but at least I can see it!) whether they’re ham-planets, buttergollums, BigCindys or Lauren Sanchez’s with billions in bewbage. Heck, my wife even uses a personal trainer (Jamal - he’s the best!) to stay fit. He says her flexibility and stamina have come along way since he started training her. The workouts really seem to wear her out though. Jamal says she’s drinking plenty but maybe she needs more electrolytes.

Anyway, fit peeps don’t hate. You do you!

How many ppl are truly naturally thin in middle age? Without doing crazy things to stay thin?

I don't "feel" more righteous, I actually AM more righteous that I have been able to maintain my slim, healthy 110lb figure post children and menopause, without rx drugs. If I can do it, with all the rxs available now, there are no excuses.

I'll take your slightly overweight body over my wife's Olympic engineered transformation. Honestly I miss her nice plump butt, her bigger hips etc. Now all she has is very unattractive lose skin all over. Her butt is completely gone, her boobs are gone, her face is elongated and she appears much older.

Having said all that she is happy with the number on the scale. But now she is complaining about all I have listed above

I feel that by being thin and in shape I get to sleep with people who are more attractive to me than if I were chunky. Worth it to me for that reason, but I don’t pay attention to what other people do. Most are doing the best they can.

I've slept with (and even had whole relationships with) plenty of fine af people while "chunky", but if this helps your self-esteem, go with it.
