Arlington 2011 bringing home that natty!

LMAO!! if this isn't a Arlington parent it would be less funny, but IP says Arlington for sure!

Like to think it’s a troll post, but it probably isn’t. Probably is one of their parents. That’s how they talk. Just like last year with the false humbleness.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

Hilarious that STJ in its first year is doing better than VRSC with all their money and shady business model.

Let’s get something straight. Competing is usually considered keeping a game within 2 goals or less. SYC 12s managed to do that. The SYC 11s unfortunately did not compete. Moving to VRSC 09s, they certainly competed and even tied the highest ranked 2009 GA in the country.

Did anyone move through? No, but competing is a different story. I am proud of both SYC and VRSC. Thanks for hating.

When SYC wins by 2 goals, they dominated you... when they lose by 2 goals.. they competed... #insteresting

It doesn’t look like anyone really understands the difference between playing showcase teams and playing playoff teams. There a huge, very big, bigger than you can image difference. It’s the biggest you have ever seen. I know because the ratings app tells me it’s so.

When Revolution wins there’s at least 48 hours worth of social media posts, including but not limited to crappy college commits from girls developed by another club. When Revolution loses it’s endless crickets. Why are parents allowing this paytoplay system to still exist?

Ummm, I guess many of you don’t realize the strengths of groups teams are playing in. Take VRSC 09s where in the toughest playoff group with the other three teams in the top 70. The best one in the top 25 who is the team they actually tied. Others don’t realize some coaches don’t care about wins outside playoffs giving the bench much more playing time. Other coaches play to win regardless if it is a showcase. Other teams play in much weaker groups.

Regardless, I am an adult who isn’t going to sit here and write up who played who for the sake of trying to make some other club look worse than they actually are.

If the best team is the team they tied, what’s the reason for the very poor results against the weaker teams? Go.

Some people seem to think rating apps are the end all be all and that showcase or even a single game or two against any other team is indicative of how good each team actually is. I've seen great teams lose to average ones due to simple match ups on the field. I've seen teams lose winnable games due to bad luck. I've seen teams hit by injuries go from playoff bound to mid tier. I've seen showcase teams both ECNL and GA, actually play everyone equally during a showcase and others go full tilt in order to "win" their bracket. Since you don't know the circumstances of a win or lose you can't actually say which is how much better.

Sure theres outliers but if you can predict the winner 75%+ of the time theres value in the prediction.

I would 100% agree with this. I was in CA watching and the difference from the playoff bracket to the showcase brackets was staggering. Speed of play, size and quality was easily spotted. Also, the difference in the playoff teams Top 10 to bottom 10 was also seen - but not as much as the drop off from playoff teams to showcase teams.

Yeah, this one thing that ECNL is much better at outside of of playoff bracket and GA should change it’s layout to similar, Playoffs>Cup>Showcase 1>Showcase 2. GA is a bit more liberal for lack of a better word for not labeling each group by record/skill level. GA should also change one of the venues of Playoffs/Champions Cup so we don’t have to go to California 2x a year.

Champions Cup was at IMG in Florida, playoffs were in CA...i think they had another showcase in CA as well, perhaps that is what you are thinking of.

Yes he is saying that of the showcases any GA team can go to (Champions Cup is limited to qulaifying clubs) - two of the three were in CA thsi year. Lots of travel for East clubs/parents.
