How about the Palestinian Christians currently sheltering in place in Gaza due to Israeli war backed by the US government? Does that count? |
I guess not entirely unexpected but this is craziness.
First they came for the undocumented and trans Then they came for knowledge and research Then they came for people who spoke out for causes they believed in Then they came for our economy Then they came for those they deemed anti Christian (33% of the country does not identify as Christian)…. Where do we draw the line? On the other hand I’m sending my kiddo off to college with the advice of keeeping his political opinions to himself and so I know I’m part of the problem. |
What would be an example of anti Christian bias please? We all have Sundays and Christian holidays off. I’ve never seen anyone bat an eye if someone leaves early for a Lent service. Does anyone get teased for celebrating Christmas or having Easter dinner?? Plenty of Christian holiday themed food and supplies in stock in our stores. Has anyone brought a workplace claim of anti christianism? What on earth would this even be??? |

Aren't Christians eligible for the same protection as other groups? If other groups are receiving special treatment in terms of anti-(insert group name), why can't Christians? |
Absolutely. Hitler and the Pope had a little history that’s about to repeats itself. Even the Pope had to bend the knee. https://www.pbs.org/newshour/show/vatican-documents-show-secret-back-channel-between-pope-pius-xii-and-adolph-hitler |
Sure but what are the examples that there are anti Christian biases that we should be on the lookout for? |
You know what, I’m fine with no PTO for Christmas if some lady is mad that she doesn’t get PTO for Good Friday.
Eliminate all religious federal holidays. Eliminate church marriages for civil unions. That’s the only way Christians won’t feel attacked. I lived in China and didn’t get PTO for Christmas. They only have national federal holidays, which for us would be July 4th and maybe Thanksgiving. |
Whut? |
Is that what you preach? When you're mocking other people? |
Do you espouse the same for Chinese holidays for which people in China are given the day off? Nations often have cultural holidays with religious roots. |
Np. 1) where does he say this? 2) people are just practicing their faith, whether you agree with it or not. They aren't required to be activists for everyone just to practice their own faith. |
Is it a movement toward equality? Or just an opportunity to publicly demonize a group? |
pp here- I believe it's meant to further legitimize discrimination against the gay and trans communities (you know, for "religious reasons") and many of the of the Evangelical people are I know are offended if you express that you are not religious. |
So hypocriticals are now evidence of discrimination? If you want to play that game, then any criticism of someone else's deeply held religious beliefs should be considered hate speech. See how this works? |
