I think this is what the OP is trying to figure out. JLD went there in the 70s, so it was probably not $50k. Again, less expensive schools have the same outplacement as Holton-Arms.

I know people who send their daughters there, and they end up at okay universities with okay jobs. They’re married but don’t live in D.C. because they can’t afford it, even though both partners work. They also don’t have kids because they can’t afford private school. I’m sorry for those who might be hurt by what I’m saying, but this is what I’ve noticed. Paying $40k or more for that outcome leaves me perplexed.

Holton Arms is a top school. if you would not be happy with outplacement there then nothing would be okay. This is clearly a troll fyi.

DP the ‘Big 3’ are NCS, St. Albans and Sidwell.

Many consider Holton-Arms part of the ‘Big 3.’ Others might include GDS, St. Anselm’s, or Maret in that group. It really depends on personal perspective.
St. Patrick’s is considered a feeder school to Holton-Arms. Last year, two 8th graders from St. Patrick’s went to St. Albans, but no girls at NCS

Holton is not a Big 3 and has never been. Good school though but it is not referred to as a Big 3 btw....

Yes, it is considered a rigorous school in the DMV, but the problem with Holton and most schools here is that outside of Sidwell and the Cathedral schools, they have virtually no name recognition across the country or internationally. THAT is why I would not pay $50K tuition there.

The schools known outside of DC are Episcopal High School and Madeira School.

It depends on when the students left St. Patrick's. Students who are currently in high school or have graduated HS would have spent the majority of their time at St. Pats using a different math curriculum under the past HOS.

you mean the actress? so what? The beer chugging, squeaky voiced wacko who falsely accused Brett Kavanaugh of groping her went to Holton too.

We left St. pat’s and moved to another state. Our DD was severely behind in math. But was advanced / gifted for her age in reading. I credit both of those “situations” to St. Pat’s where she got her start. I brought up the math curriculum to the head of school and head of LS and essentially told them it was terrible and they needed to make a change, they recognized it was bad and would be changing (sounds like it switched to Illustrative Math). Very nice school but needs some work in the math department imo.

Tell me you’re a Trumper without telling me you’re a Trumper. Your sons must go to Prep.

The two schools at the National Cathedral(St Albans(boys) and National Cathedral School(girls)) and Sidwell Friends School.

They hired teachers without a degree in education or education specialty. I have heard from insiders who work there that they keep it a secret from the public because no one ask to see credentials.
