They are not boys but MEN. I guess they were all bailed out by Mommy and Daddy. I wonder who recorded the incident— sounds like that person turned them in? |

This is so messed up. I hope these boys all get kicked out of school. This was a planned/premeditated hate crime.
While gross to most, 16 is the age of consent in MD and the victim, no matter his age, was not committing a crime. |
4 arrested were Anne Arundel County residents. |

Salisbury native here. This activity could happen in any college town. Four of the troublemakers were Anne Arundel natives.
The gay man responding to the grindr ad needs to practice better safe dating skills. (I don't want to blame the victim but he should have met up with the grindr person in a public venue.) |
|
Salisbury native again.
This happened off campus. It did not happen in SU housing. The crime was unrelated to SU other than the fact that some of the 15 males performing the assault were SU students. |
| One social media site I checked had posters who were victim blaming. I hope these thugs are not made into heroes. |
|
Salisbury native - all of that may be true.
They still committed a crime and should be tried for it. And criminals, especially ones who commit hate crimes, should not be welcomed on college campuses. |
Agree they should be tried. Too bad they couldn’t be charged with kidnapping since they were holding him against his will. |
| Your brain isn't even fully formed until age 25. These young college students made a huge mistake and they deserve some form of punishment, but I don't think that sending them to prison for years is going to help anything. These young men have a bright future ahead of them. They should be required to make restitution to the victim and also perform community service, preferably to the LGBT community. That way, they will learn that there are consequences to their actions. |

How were they raised to be so callous and indifferent to the pain and suffering of another human who had done nothing to them?
How do "good" kids become immune to torturing someone? |
I think the fact that they are SU students speak to the culture of Greek life. It is horrible and all Greek students should be on notice. UMD alum who was Greek. |
| Salisbury is a dump. So many reasons to go elsewhere. |
BullS*** 🏹 If an 18 year old African American or Hispanic assaulted someone, PP would be screaming for jail. |
Why do you say this |
