However, if it wasn’t on the invite ( which u state it wasn’t) I would have asked the host just to clarify. If the host said no I’d have sent snacks with my kid.

Your kid can’t go three hours without snacks?

After swimming? No. Most people would need something in that time frame. Hopefully the kids were being loud about it so the host realized their mistake. I bet even the birthday child was hungry.

Are they doing laps for a few hours? Ocean swimming? Please. No wonder so many kids are obese. My kids go 6 hrs in between meals and there’s no need for snacks.

Sure they do. I guess they are home schooled then, liar.

Breakfast at 6:30am, lunch at 12:30 (at school) and then dinner at 6:30. That’s our day. Wake up at 6am and get home from school at 6pm. They go to bed by 8:30pm. This has been their schedule for years and nobody is passing out from hunger.

How nice of you to pass your eating disorder on to your children. Kids need to eat every few hours. Forcing them to starve every afternoon while watching their friends eat snacks is cruel and will lead to overeating as adults. Everybody knows somebody who lived through this.

The kids are too old not to have provided food. Definitely not considerate of parents that took time out of their weekends to celebrate her kids bday.

So cheap they starve kids and you do too? You’re a lousy parent bragging about underfeeding your kids.

You have no idea what your kids are eating at school. And what school doesn’t have a snack time these days?

The only thing they can eat is what I pack them. Kids can’t share food and there’s no cafeteria/vending machines. There is no snack time. They are healthy kids. They don’t need food every 3 hrs.

BUul shit. You send your kids to school until 6pm and there's no after school snack?

No. Their after school program doesn’t provide food. They might finish their lunch but they tell me they eat their lunches at lunch time. Why do you think your kids need to eat few three hours? They don’t unless they have a medical condition like diabetes.

Guaranteed your kids mooch off others during the day. But this is all part of your miserly plan I’m sure.

This. But also, OP already knew this. What's the point of posting? Sometimes life (or a party host) throws you a curve ball and you need to scramble at 1pm to get food for your kids. OP, if you want to start taking backup snacks to future parties, then rock on. I'm guessing you won't ever need them.

The point of posting is to vent.
Yes OP the hosts screwed up and were wrong - food should be served for a party at that time.

They should have provided food. Usually in the invite it says and if it doesn’t I message the parents to double check. “On the invitation it doesn’t state whether or not food will be provided. Since this is during a meal time I want to check to see if I will need to a. Send my child with food or b. Feed my child before the event.” Then depending on the response I will reply it is a good idea to inform other parents there will be no food so they can feed their children since it is during a meal time. Usually the parents get the idea but sometimes they don’t. If you don’t want to offer food then have it during non meal times (anytime 1-4) and inform on the invite what will be given food-wise.

How do you throw a "party" without food?!

It doesn’t cost that much to buy 2 pizzas.

Yes I would have expected lunch at that time. Not everyone can afford it though. The kids complaining about how hungry they were showed bad manners (if it was in ear shot of the hosts).
