After the civil war, the country reunited and all states are states in the United States. I moved here from a western state and chose based on today, not on something that is over. |
They weren’t fights. It was just me, getting the sh!t kicked out of me, by a dozen black classmates at recess every few weeks. A “fight” would at least imply that I was able to fight back back. That was my childhood for grades 2-6 at Gaywood Elementary School in Seabrook. The kids who would beat me up were all bussed to this school from Landover. See? My local school was VERY integrated. |
It started to diversify because black people started moving out to Bowie to get away from latinos who were moving into inside-the-beltway areas of PG where blacks had lived since the 70’s-80’s. There’s such a thing as “black flight”, too. |
So you live in a former slave state and the Whitest area in the region. Congrats on your bonafides. |
Lol. Your point is pedantic and you seem to miss the point. During the 1970s, PG schools was segregated and then underwent a process of desecration. That process took decades hence why federal courts wouldn’t end there forced busing mandate for years and years. Given your lack of comprehension, I’m confident that you graduated from PG schools back in the day. And I’m glad my parents sprung for DeMatha back in the 1980s. |
There were both formal covenants and informal gentlemens agreements. |
Not really. We are still fighting the Civil War today. https://time.com/6174297/america-divided-civil-war/ |
No, we aren't. In your bubble, you might be. But Americans aren't. |
The last time the country was as divided as it is now was during the Civil War. Fact. |
We are polarized and divided right now, yes. But we certainly are not still fighting the Civil War. We are not divided on any of those issues. SMH |
| The Washington suburbs are way more diverse than the District. DC politicians still take a very retro, simplistic view of diversity as being Black v. White. |
Caveat emptor: The exhibit’s local “content” is largely spin from Trump’s national pollster who now shills for the DC development industry. |
| PG was white and considered racist esp the all white police (by dc blacks). That is why they all moved to escape blacks in the 80s mainly to anne arundal or howard. those who couldnt afford to leave went to trailers. anything to escape blacks |
False. |
Compared to Virginia not really. |
