I think this only looks really good on black and Asian guys.

You would be incorrect.

Pp is right

The reason this doesn’t look good on white guys is because white men age much faster in the face so by the time they can afford this look, their weathered skin doesn’t go well with the textures of turtlenecks and wool coats

Black and Asian guys maintain their facial skin better and it makes for a nicer contrast with those sweater and wool textures

Europeans invented this look. Wool turtleneck screams Italian or southern European.

You are seriously comparing Italians to Americans?

Presumably PP is refuting the point about white men not being able to pull off the look. Italians are white.

a well-fitted, white button down shirt with monogrammed cufflinks, dress pants, brown leather loafers

DP. Agree but I need a well-cut jacket on top of that. At least, until the jacket gets removed with flair and draped around my shoulders.

Recently saw someone I know and hadn't seen in a suit in a long, long time; he's had serious health issues so hasn't been dressing in anything beyond casual stuff. He had on a three-piece suit and a classic white shirt with French cuffs and the subtlest cufflinks. Seeing him in an outfit like that, which he used to wear frequently when out and about, and knowing that he's feeling good enough to dress that way again--I was wowed.

PP here. You make a good point of how one feels in the state of dress, is of the utmost importance.
You're such a tease...I would be a puddle on the ground. That's my kryptonite.

One of the partners at my work dresses like that- AND has a British accent. Swoon.

Not the Southern ones, which is why they look good in the turtleneck/wool coat. Olive-skinned, dark hair, smoldering eyes. Raoul Bova comes to mind. No offense to the suburban, middle-aged, white guy, but they just can't pull that look off.

Uh…yeah. Southern Italians are still white people.

Aren’t they Latino?

Latium -> Latin -> Latino

No one in dc really has “good tailoring” outside of the Japanese and certain euro diplomatic missions

Any man in a well fitted outfit: suit, button down, sweater, whatever. A nice suit can elevate a pudgy mediocre looking man.

DH says a white linen dress I have is his favorite. It’s a very inadvertently sexy outfit, it’s just a simple dress that happens to make my body look very good. That’s what men like.

If you think in terms of actual skin color, no. It's pretty obvious. If You think the actor I mentioned is as white as Conan O' Brien, get your eyes checked. Many Italians are olive-skinned and gorgeous.

I had to look that word up.

Women can make almost anything look good, but sundress is the only answer to this question.

I’m so turned off by men in suits.

I declined so many second date invitations because the guy showed up for the first in a suit and I wasn’t attracted to him. One guy somehow convinced me to have a second date and he changed into something casual after work and it made all the difference. I ended up dating him for a year. I wonder now how many guys I might have found attractive if they hadn’t come straight from work.
