Don't know yet, but could be any of Luxmanor, Farmland, Garrett Park, Kensington Parkwood, Viers Mill, etc.

This is the site for the Woodward project:

I'm not sure if I'm the only WJ parent that is super irritated by this. WJ is (I think) the most over-capacity school in the County. It is the 6th largest HS in the state and has the highest student to teacher ratio in the county. It's been a problem for over a decade and keeps getting worse, and to tell parents that it will be another three years in which the population continues to grow is totally unacceptable. In the past two years, they've pushed back the opening two years, so at this rate it will literally never open. I don't see why they can't find another spot for the Northwood kids--it was all really lousy planning on MCPS's part.

Such as?

How many portables does WJ have?

15

Blair has 25 portables.

what are portables?

Relocatable classrooms.

The boundary study timeline called for the RFP to go out last spring and the consultant to be chosen this summer. The RFP just went out and isn't due until October 31. So is the process already six months behind?

I think more like three months behind. So now they're expected to choose the consultant in November, instead of August. They have some wiggle room on the later dates because Woodward still won't open until August 2027.

Are they reasoning elementary schools or middle schools to Woowdard?

Hi, MCPS here. It's not really a timeline in the sense that it's an accurate estimation of when anything will occur. It's more of a thing that we felt obligated to share so that you will stop talking to us and go away. We actually updated it a few months ago, but it's written in Spanish and we haven't been able to convince our staff to translate it yet.

Elementary schools and/or middle schools could be reassigned to Woodward. No one's current ES assignment will change. But an ES could be reassigned to feed to a different middle school, a different high school, or both.

No one knows yet, but it seems pretty likely some will be.

For example, could Kensington-Parkwood be split articulated between Woodward and Einstein?

If they want to maximize walkers, that would be one way to do so.

And then the question would be, would K-P still stay assigned to North Bethesda MS? If so, then North Bethesda would be triply split articulated between WJ, Woodward, and Einstein. Or do they reassign the Woodward part to Tilden (?) and the Einstein part to Newport Mill.
