Exactly. FH is neither. Parking is not terrible but can be inconvenient. Not fun to walk there either for all the reasons PPs pointed out.

For as long as I've lived in DC no one "goes" to that area for anything. You live there to get away from DC crime, and because you can afford to.

So what’s stopping the people who do live there from being out and about and enjoying live??

Older people don't spend money. Young families spend money.

Tell us you don’t know who lives on the DC. side walkable to FH without telling us

Unlikely, shooter was also young. More likely DV. The 2nd shooting in DC in 2024 was also a woman, at an establishment on H St. NE. Likely also DV. Even the shooting at Days Inn was DV except the shooter fired indiscriminately into room and hit 5 women but not former girlfriend.

For most people, the cost of gas and the cost of the time to go to Rockville is more valuable to shop online to shop in the neighborhood.
