Definitely! But just to increase optionality, SCM ( supply chain management) with a minor in accounting (currency impacts etc), international trade or decisions sciences (operations research) can be something to consider. |
+1 An excellent undergrad business program. |
thanks for this - never knew. in our backyard! |
So then what major is good if your kid wants business? |
Can someone please rank the VA publics in terms of undergrad business? |
UVA VT, W&M |
No it’s not. Ridiculous. |
What would be the rankings for the rest of them? My kid likely won't get into UVA or W&M. And actively disliked VT after visiting. |
I would say Accounting is the exception to this- And it really doesn't matter where you get an accounting degree. It is more important to have good grades and are able to pass the CPA. |
DePaul |
+1 ha, me, too. |
nope. Business degree is very popular and very flexible. More popular than liberal arts degrees. It's why even some LACs are starting to offer business degrees while dropping some liberal arts degrees. |
Wall Street Journal just had an article about how MBA's from top programs can't get jobs. There is nothing wrong with undergrad business major. Mine was from UD. |
I never had any women or male athletes in my accounting or finance classes. |
Accounting, finance, analytics, MIS, etc. general management or marketing are weaker. Overall business majors are harder to get in and much better outcomes except for CS/Engineering. Old timers please stop posting. |
