I was pissed in 2016 because Hillary Clinton and Trump was not the best and the brightest the parties had to offer. In 2020, many of us just wanted to nominate anyone who would win, and get Trump out of office. Next year, it looks like it’s the 2016 problem again.

Honestly, if you look at what happened as a result of 2016 and think that Biden and Trump are the same thing, you’re the problem. If you’re not just a Republican shill and for some reason you actually think the two choices presented to you for 2024 are the same thing, you need to stop consuming whatever media bong you’re hitting because you’re high as a kite on GOP nonsense.

Can you imagine the outrage if republicans were paying people to talk about politics in their church?

Page after page on a thread entitled “Religious insurrection perpetrated by Republicans omg I feel faint call the FBI NOW!”

They did that and it contributed to the rights destruction of reproductive rights so it is shown to be an effective strategy.

Can you provide a link sourcing your claim? Republicans or right wing groups paid private citizens/nano influencers to go to their church and talk about the destruction of reproductive rights?

Dp- I’m most cases the churches themselves grift off the destruction of reproductive health care rights. The left has to find a different path.

It may not be about reproductive rights directly, but politicians use churches as a megaphone all the time, both the left and right.

Rs have really no standing here. They have their own echo chamber and social media campaigns, and as admitted by the left, their campaigns started earlier, is much more organized and widespread than liberals on social media.

I think liberals were less inclined to create such an echo chamber on social media, but I'm glad they are going after the Rs in their own backyard. It's about time. Given how much younger liberals tend to be as a whole, I'm surprised it took so long.

It's called Reddit (amongst many others). Are you new to this whole internet thing?

Some seriously out of touch people here.

Wow, you think reddit is a liberal echo chamber? Wow. Do you actually even know how reddit works?

New poster. This thread summarizes what I've always thought of DCUM political forum - people with issues and living in the metaphorical basement and clueless about reality to the extent they invent stuff to fit their narrative (like the bizarre allegations about churches). Now talk about conspiracy theories! And then they accuse the opposite party of being held in sway to conspiracy theories.

The reality is also that Biden's polling is terrible and Turnip has a slight average lead over him, despite everything. The reality is also that despite everything half the country is fully prepared to vote for Turnip again. Why not talk about that? But as far as I can tell, no left wing progressive has ever made a meaningful attempt at understanding why Rs are flocking to Turnip again and even lukewarm independents are showing signs of reluctantly moving into his camp. Only a few brave liberals have made genuine attempts at understanding the motivations and I admire them.

A man facing several indictments is polling ahead of an incumbent. Are there really no other possible candidates?

No other candidates. We're a year away from the 2024 election. The time for a viable 3rd party candidate to surface has come and gone. Trump and Biden are apparently the best candidates to lead the most powerful country in the world for consecutive elections. Figure that one out!

Biden is doing a great job, and it is very difficult to replace an incumbent who is doing well.

When you're voting in a candidate for new four year term, you are voting on the prospects of what this candidate can and will do looking forward over a four year span; not backwards. We should appreciate what Biden has done for us since replacing Trump but considering how much is going on in the world right now, we don't need to be stuck with a vegetable-brained leader for four more years. Yes, this truth hurts.

If you actually believe Biden is "vegetable-brained" the cauliflower might be inside your own head.

He's old, don't get me wrong, but he's clearly very sharp mentally. I'm sure you'll link some cherry-picked gaffe or out of context clip and pretend like it's some kind of "gotcha," but there's literally no way for an intelligent and aware person to look at Biden's collective body of speeches, appearances, decisions, etc. and come to any other conclusion than the fact that he's a very smart, very experienced person who occasionally shows the inevitable trappings of being in his late 70s.

No one with an IQ over 80 thinks Trump or Biden are the best we have available to lead us when Biden's 1st term ends in January 2025. Let's hope our common sense prevails.

This analysis is terrible. Trump is significantly weaker than he was in 2020. Virtually unelectable. In 2020 women still had reproductive rights, insurrection has not happened, he yet been indicted however many times it is, he has not yet lost the civil rape case, etc. He is an amazingly poor quality candidate.

Wait till Trump’s brain starts leaking all over the stage. It’s not like he was smart when he was in office, but his dementia - his two hands cup holding, his wandering off the state early, his abandoning signings, his ability to navigate a slight ramp, his oral diarrhea, his obvious, glaring dementia - will not have been put on pause since he tried to overthrow the government with the help of the GOP. Republicans and their media arm have spent the last few years trying to project Donald’s problems on to Biden, but it’s going to be obvious that Trump is gone.

Not that that will stop a few million traitors to America from voting for Trump. You are all so happy to try and destroy the country.

Yes, Trump is the most beatable candidate in the history of our country and it will be due to our laziness if we sit back and allow the DNC to run the one candidate that can possibly lose to Trump.

Biden beat that fool when he was actually stronger. 2024 is 2020 all over with trump getting an even worse thrashing.

Last time he was the one candidate who could beat Trump and now he is the one candidate who could lose to him? Make that make sense.

The whole world has been watching Biden handle foreign policy better than any other leader in the past 30 years. He is respected and admired abroad.
