What does your 4th/5th grader do after school?

Monday reading/writing tutor until 5:30pm. Then free time, play with siblings, go out to playground with mom or grandma. Not much screen time unless she "earns it"

Tuesday:
Play with siblings, study with grandma, then go to archery class at 7pm. Screentime in evening afterwards

Wednesday:
Sewing class with best friend, then they play until 7:30-8pm

Thursday:
After-school creative class til 5, then free time with siblings, out with mom, study with grandma

Friday:
Creative DIY class with best friend, then they play at my home or nearby park until 8pm or later.

Sewing class! Cute. I'm sitting here with two hems I'm going to have to pay someone to fix because I don't have a machine any longer.

Our backyard trampoline has solved the screen problem. Our kids gets 1 hour of screen time after homework. The rest of the time (when they don’t have activities) they jump on the trampoline. It even gets the screen addicted neighbor kids to come over. Never thought this was possible.

Mine will either play/fight with younger brother, read, or go to the park to play pick up soccer. On nights without sports/activity, he'll watch a half hour of TV or play online chess.

I make mine play outside with her brother, read, or do a craft if I can but if I really need to get work done, I let her watch a show.

30 mins - 1 hour of afterschool, spent on the playground. This is how I force some playtime. Then she comes home with a sitter. They walk the dog and play/do crafts together until I get home, with 30 minutes of screen time allowed. My kid also has the option of doing playdates or going to meet friends at the local park but she would rather play with our 30 year old babysitter.

DP but I’ve seen these offered from the county, city, and local groups.

I miss sewing—I’m afraid getting a machine would end up unused though. Wish the library would have one!
