| This happened to my non-IEP child in second grade and it was terrible. I imagine it's great for the kids who need similar services to be in the same place at the same time, but our NT child without any learning disabilities was completely ignored. Like they even seated her as far away as possible from the teacher because she didn't need to be constantly observed. The teacher barely knew who she was (and in FCPS this meant that she got terrible ratings on the GBRS and didn't get into AAP because her teacher didn't give a crap about her). Thankfully we appealed the AAP and got her into a different school. |
Your kids are not normal if they need an IEP. The right thing to do is to completely segregate kids with IEP for mental or learning disabilities. More importantly we need to send the kids with behavioral issues to a completely segregated class to protect everyone. |
