Money that federal workers have to pay out of pocket now. When I worked in DC I brought my own lunch and used dry cleaners near my home. The only thing they will get money on is Metro fees and parking.

And that’s you. But objectively nobody can deny that more goods and services will get moved if people are in the office. Economies grow when money changed hands.

Do you know what zero sum means?
Money is also changing hands in the current work from home arrangements.
Workers didn't just stop eating when they work from home.
They do save on gas costs (environment) and health cars cost (because of removal of unnecessary stress).

And we could care less about downtown offices no matter how much you bribe ....errrr pay Biden.
Turn it into multi unit housing you disingenuously say you care about.

Well said

We’re now seriously arguing that if Trump were president he wouldn’t be ordering federal workers back to the office? Really?

Oh he would. The same thing is going to happen either way.

No we are not trying to argue that.
You are.

No Ms. Strawman, we are not arguing that because Trump is not in office and its irrelevant.
Really.

This doesn’t make any sense to me. I thought the environment was a priority for him. If he really cares about climate change, I would expect him to be making WFH easier for fed employees and pushing to offer tax incentives for the private sector to promote WFH policies.

Don’t be ridiculous. Of course people are spending less when they WFH. Commuting, childcare, eating out, etc. As I said, I love WFH as much as anyone, and I’m not making any policies. But it’s stupid to argue that there aren’t any societal benefits to getting people out of their houses a couple days a week.

Only replying to the poster who said they wouldn’t vote Biden 2024 because of RTO. Republicans are much more hellbent on making life difficult for Feds.

What are the "societal benefits" besides lining commercial office building owners pockets with cash that you'd care to talk about that outweigh the obvious , proven benefits of Teleworking?
What is your acceptable number of days in office per 2 week pay period?

What makes you think I never get out of my house?

Exactly. The “Biden lost my vote” is the most idiotic post I’ve seen all day. And that’s saying a lot.

Yea that makes sense. Trump is all about WFH. sigh.
Skipping the vote in 2024 = a vote for Trump. Don’t be an ass.

the Democrats need to learn they don’t own anyone’s vote, and that includes the federal workforce.

Of course not. But someone who says they’re going to vote R to save telework is badly misguided.
