I love a well shaded lot and mature tree neighborhood too. It's so lovely year round. |
| OP did you take care of the problem? |
I would have done that had I been born 70 years ago. |
OP here. No, I'm not going to kill their tree in the middle of the night as some suggested. Thinking about installing a root barrier, though. |
5 years from now you’ll wish you had. |
I hope you and the Clorox pp are joking. How could you walk around normally in life knowing you have a dark twisted soul that sneaks around in the dead of night poisoning people's trees. |
+1 Vandalizing your neighbor's property is a low-SES thing. Something the Boeberts or the Palins would do. |
How could you even live with yourself? Sneaking around like that. Man up and deal with problems up front. |
|
1/4 lot is very small for that size of tree. Trees often grow much faster than expected and cause problems sooner than expected. I've planted and removed large trees and the amount of ignorance about how fast they grow and the problems they cause is impressive. The company I hired decades ago to plant large trees near my property line put them too close to the line and to my house. I had a sprinkler system and my trees grew fast and I had to remove 2 with 6 years.
Op you are right to be concerned but what can you do? |
I agree. I have a neighbor who acts friendly to my face but has been caught on security camera in my yard doing things like this multiple times. I put up cameras because she was constantly in my yard. I have multiple videos of her in my yard at night dumping something near some of the plants. She sent her son over to pour round up in a large plant feature in my yard. She is insane and she and her family are trash. |
This is the reality. Our builder put in too many trees and in less than 10 years we are having problems with the sidewalk and driveway. I had a 30' tree 9' from my foundation. |
I find it hard to believe you have those trees on a 1/3 acre lot. The oak alone would overwhelm that space. Hollies, dogwoods, and even cherry trees would be ok. But I call bs with the other trees. I would not want your lot if this is true. |
People grossly underestimate how quickly trees grow. I have seen this time and time again and lived it myself. I have been derided for this several times at 3 different properties and it's a load of horse patooie. |
