It was a such a low bar to make families happy. Just give ALL the kids a shot at attending in person without discriminating primarily on race. Problem solved!

I can't believe this person is still on here. I taught an almost all white class in the spring of 2021 at Hearst during the covid reopening phase so let's put this nonsense to bed.

We remember what happened.

Hearst staff failed students. Murch and Janney went back much earlier and our kids pretended to learn for 3 hours a day after watching many teachers continue to push the bar on what it would take to return. The principal abdicated her leadership. The above teacher can have his or her memories but don’t pretend this didn’t happen to our kids.

The principal picked winners and losers based on her myopic embrace of equity above all other considerations. My kid is still recovering from almost two years of learning loss. It was criminal. We sure did not forget.

I always found the prior principal to be pleasant and engaged with families.

I don't think she can be blamed for a global pandemic!!

I also think that prioritizing the kid who were doing the worst academically for the first chance at in-person learning is a smart decision.

Janney did this too; at set of kids were prioritized to return first.

NP parent who parented a little more and a little broader during the pandemic.
"Criminal neglect" applies to parents, not teachers, for good reason. You must feel really guilty to still be so angry.

Let me guess. You got to work from home with your laptop for two years? Shame on you. Check your privilege.
