I only know this is about DeSantis because it’s posted in a thread about DeSantis, but it describes Trump perfectly as well. And McConnell.

Uhh no - trump is famously good with person to person interactions - except for hand shaking, people like meeting/hanging with trump and think he is funny

I dunno what Mitch is like - probably normal over some mint juleps

Desantis is clearly a weirdo.

Uniquely so in this field.

Tim Scott I’m sure you could do like a church day with him or some church cook out.

Vivek is cringe but could do a tennis day and talk about markets like a typical Patagonia vest wearer

Could probably have a fun shopping day with Nikki Haley

Asa Hutchinson prolly could kick back some bourbon with

Chris Christie prolly could go out for some hoagies and shoot the s*it

Desantis is just a weirdo and that’s why after donors meet him, they are like wtf is up with this guy

Trump is good at staged meet and greets, where no one is going to challenge him and all he has to do is greet people and say a few platitudes. He’s terrible at listening to ordinary people and responding as though he cares about anything they’ve said. Trump wouldn’t ask anyone what their name is. A smooth politician would ask a constituent what their name is, then respond by using their name as he asked what they do for a living or where they live or what’s good at the restaurant. DeSantis asked and then just said, “okay,” like he was mentally checking off asking the guy’s name from his mental to-do list, because that’s what handlers instructed him to do.

Trump has charm - he's an entertainer

McConnell has decades of experience being a ruthless head of party

Meatball is a charmless weirdo who eats pudding with his hands and bought his own Fox News hype that he was as great as Mussolini

Trump had some charm when he was younger. Those days are long over. His crassness is what wins over crowds.

There's something really weird about his eyes, too - can't put my finger on it.
He's definitely in some kind of 'uncanny valley' area for me.

He’s on the spectrum with a twist of antisocial personality disorder (ASPD).

Just want to note:

I have a husband and child on the spectrum, and know many people with high-functioning autism, since we're in the STEM field. For us it's another variation of normal.

Just because this Governor, who sadly promotes hate of certain groups, and opportunistically stokes division among his constituents, may be on the spectrum as well, it doesn't mean that everyone with HFA is prejudiced towards certain populations, or that a prejudiced person is automatically on the spectrum.

I see the armchair physicians of DCUM have entered the chat.

"On the spectrum?" Uh, no.

One doesn't graduate from Yale and HLS and then join the military and serve as a legal advisor to Seal Team One then go on to be elected to Congress and Governor of one of the largest states in our country while being "on the spectrum" with ASPD.

You people want so desperately to label him with *something* that you are just going over the top.

+1. Creep would do. “An example of affirmative action for mediocre white guys” would also work. Don’t try to pathologize mediocrity and just a poor personality. Allegedly, this guy gleefully participated in torture while he was on piss officer duty. So maybe he’s a sociopath, too.

Yet another rumor circulated by DCUM.

Y'all will find a derogatory disorder or label for ANY Republican. One only has to look through the Tim Scott thread for proof.

I’ve always gotten a certain VIBE from him.

Yeah my gaydar goes off.

Your gaydar needs a major adjustment.

I don't think so. Dollars to doughnuts, he has at least one gay experience as an adult and a good reporter is going to find his Achilles heel before the 2023 is over.

They didn't report it about Obama, despite someone talking about it in front of the National Press Club.

+100
The idiocy continues. This reminds me of, "he's drinking water with TWO HANDS!!" Or, "he's sniffing!!" Looks like our liberal friends are feeling insecure, as always.

No, what we’re doing is making fun of a buffoon.

No, what you're doing is outing yourselves as the buffoons. As usual. Do carry on.

Coming from a red hatter, that means a lot. Thank you for the compliment.

How did linux come into this?

I don't remember if they did anything for George Bush Sr, but going back 50 years now. Ford actual had a physical condition that led to his stumbling.

Not true. I’m as far from a Republican as you can get while being raised by two of them, and I would LOVE to get a slice and a beer with Chris Christie. My also very Democratic friend spent years in North Charleston and reports that Tim Scott is a nice guy. That doesn’t make his responses posted on that thread to one of the major issues of the day good responses.

Tell you what, next time you meet someone, stick out your hand, ask their name and when they give it to you, you then just say “OK.” and watch that person’s reaction. It’s a genuinely weird thing to say.

This reminds me of the photo op where Bloomberg shook a dog’s snout.

But he has the skill, the discipline and the viciousness to end the Democrat Party so much more than anyone else in the field—even President Trump. You end the Democrats and so much of the division and nonsense we deal with now goes away. As Gov. DeSantis cleanses, people will have to go along or go away. So you’re only hurting yours and your descendants future if you go on record bashing Gov. DeSantis now. Dumb.

Yeah that sounds like a racist government PP. Are you ok with that?

Meant fascist but yeah the man is racist as well.

He doesn’t have the interpersonal chops to engage a crowd. He easily gets flustered and it it shows on his sweaty face. He got lucky with Florida during Covid, but that’s waining.
Trump is funny and charismatic and fakes it when asked questions that he doesn’t understand.I hate them both

The tonal quality of his voice is terrible and makes him sound like a whiney cry-baby. If he wants to make it to the national stage...he will need improvement. He needs a voice coach.
