| If DC and other cities really wanted to shut down the bus caravans, there's a rather simple way to do it. As the evidence is rather clear that a number of immigrants are being transported East under false pretenses, arrest some bus drivers and impound the buses on a human trafficking charge. Very quickly no bus company or other carrier will want any part of this business. Heck, not even the Texas Rangers (the state police, not the ball players) would want to drive the buses. |
I don’t put much stock on dystopian prognostication from an opinion writer desperate to meet his weekly obligation. The only crisis that exists is in your unquestioning, angry little mind spoonfed on tripe that even Miss Cleo wouldn’t bother with repeating. |
Sure, that's why India has been such a popular place to live. Same with China's enormous population and fantastic standard of living in the last hundred years prior to communism. But seriously, from what I studied, the Black Death is partially credited for the Renaissance. With a large decimation of the population, human labor became more valuable, heck, humans became more valuable so there was more investment in this resource. People were more educated, living standards rose. |
Comparing a modern, free market capitalist economy with a medieval feudal economy is rather bizarre. |
Maybe the unwieldy population numbers prevented those economies from advancing to the next stages. Seems too much of a coincidence that the two most populous countries have struggled towards modernity. |
The person arguing that migrants bussed to DC by Texas are 100% responsible for DC population increase should provide data to support this argument. If the migrants didn't stay, they didn't contribute to the population increase. What is hard to understand about that? If the migrants did not stay, the title of this thread and the thread's entire premise is wrong. Asking you to provide data to support the primary claim of this thread is causing you all kinds of difficulty in comprehension and I don't understand why. |
Want to agree with you, but the bus drivers and bus companies are just pawns in this, like the migrants. The ones that should really be arrested are the ones giving the orders - like Gov Abbott. |
