Do you have to watch Knives Out to watch the second one? I was unable to sit through Knives Out, although I tried several times.

I don’t know why you’d want to watch the second one if you didn’t like the first one! It’s another murder mystery with the same detective, in a similar style

Trivia: Joseph Gordon-Levitt voiced the dong!

Oh!! I saw his on the cast list and wondered why he was there! So funny!

+1 the original was way more of a WHOA moment for me, it felt more cleverly layered and revealed. And the setting / background was less distracting so it felt.mlre about the people and personalities.

The beginning of this one was slow as well.

That said, I enjoyed it - it's fun and worth watching. Just expected an even bigger reveal after reading reviews that thought this was better than the first.

Can anyone tell me if this movie could be viewed in the same general area as elementary age kids? Like what’s the profanity/violence level? (No spoilers, please!)

I thought it was a lot of fun. I liked the original better but I'd absolutely buy a ticket to see a third one.

Janelle Monae was the MVP of this one.

Most reviews say Pg13+

A woman wears skimpy/slinky clothes; a scene shows her kissing and straddling someone on a bed while wearing a bikini. Quick glimpse of a sex toy and condoms. Some violence.

Curious if anyone knows why the cast credits list begins with the several (main) cast members, but then says, ‘with Kate Hudson,’ and then ‘and Dave Bautista.’
If they were part of the main cast, why were they listed that way (not with the main cast?)

Those are considered better placements and are carefully negotiated. First best, the "and" second best and "with" being third best.

+ bad language etc

Probably watchable with teens. I wouldn't have it on with my young kids around

Seriously? I doubt young kids would even be interested in what was happening on screen. Too much talking.

As a black woman, I instantly picked up on the deeper story that Glass Onion was telling. I felt what Andie and Helen were going through and predicted how they would respond.

Please read this review “Knives Out’ & ‘Glass Onion’ Parallels, Explained: Marta, Andi, Helen, Peg & The Plight Of Women Of Color In USA” and consider rewatching the movie: https://dmtalkies.com/knives-out-and-glass-onion-parallels-explained-2022-film-rian-johnson/

Also the sexism: Marta - nurse. Helen -teacher. Those were the two approved professions my mother was offered when she went to college in the late 40’s.

To those wondering if the host wouldn't have known right from the start what's up with And ... he knew. He looked surprised, almost shocked, at the marina not because Andi had finally accepted his invitation but because he knew what was going on. He decided to play along because what else could he have done?
