| The Girl on the Train. I dislike books with no likeable characters. |
| The Push. Truly awful book. |
| Anything in Oprah's Book Club but especially She's Come Undone - garbage. |
I agree about the book but I enjoyed the movie which surprised me. |
| The Goldfinch |
| The Tattooist of Auschwitz. I didn't like it because it was written almost entirely from a male perspective, and made the main character seem like the savior of his love interest at all times. We didn't learn much of anything about her from the book. |
| A Sarah J Mass book, the first in the crescent city one. I just couldn't with all the lightning coming from the main character which was supposed to be part of his hot alpha appeal. So weird. oh and it's poorly written, ha. |
I hated that book. So confusing, depressung |
I liked the beginning enough to still think of the book with admiration, but I didn't like the last half that much either. |
| I'm a big no on anything by Elizabeth Strout. Really disliked Olive Kitteredge and outright hated My Name is Lucy Barton. |
| Atonement. I couldn't even get through a quarter of it. My MIL, who is British and an avid reader, couldn't either. |
My son had to read this book for summer reading for his AP English class. He read the other assigned book with no issues but kept telling me Atonement was awful. I tried to read it myself during our vacation and couldn’t get past the first chapter. Ugh. Then I saw the movie. Super depressing. |
Yes I hated this book. Hated! I read a few other terrible Oprah Book Club books, like The Poisonwood Bible, and decided to never read another one because obviously Oprah and I have very different taste in books. |
I found it a little relentless but I also found it such a huge page turner (not my normal kind of thing at all). I sort of felt empathy for the main character, for the most part - her drunken situation. |
That’s my favorite of her books! And the ending to the second had me screaming. |
