I cook twice a week. Anyone who is not happy with that is free to fix their own meals. |
When I was single, I often had a few reheatables in the fridge every night. I'd alternate them with pasta cooked one meal at a time.
When our kids were little, I'd make a meal of something and a batch of something for the freezer to pull out and bake (mac and cheese, lasagna, meatloaf, marinated chicken), so a lot like what OP does. But leftovers almost always get eaten for lunch or, in the case of teenagers, second dinner. |
I cook early morning. I have already finished my cooking for the day (lunch and dinner) by 10 am. My DH makes breakfast because he is WFH since last few years. I am a SAHM and I feel if I don't get cooking out of the way then I am on duty for the rest of the day.
I am done for chores - cooking, cleaning, dishes, laundry by noon everyday. |
We never eat leftovers. Re-heated meat is not that great. |
Stupid question--so you reheat chicken cutlets that you already fried for example? |
I cook five nights a week, takeout two nights a week, for a family of six (though now some kids are at college). We never do the same thing two nights in a row, so leftovers - if there are any - are usually lunch for someone. |
I cook fresh every night. And frequently come home and make a fresh lunch max. DH typically cooks breakfast daily and most of weekend cooking.

At least for 2 nights. I cook traditional foods that easily can be eaten for 2-3 days. |
I loved takeout 4X a week, but after I gained 30 lbs and my cholesterol went up I’m trying to eat at home. One of my elementary aged kids gained weight too. Meal planning is difficult for me, but I’m trying. |
