Replace "narcissists" for "activists"

Is it better to destroy the whole world with the continuation of a lavish standard of living which includes driving SUVS, cruising, traveling internationally, air conditioning, building ridiculous houses and so on?

Adopt Singapore's caning laws.
It will abruptly stop.

Side story. I did a bunch of fire protection for the National Gallery of Art a million years ago. Obviously, ensuring that paintings don't get damaged due to fire, smoke and water is difficult. Putting glass over them was a huge debate and one that I lost many times. I am glad to see the art world embracing it as we never predicted an assault with tomato soup.

You're giving them a good deal of credit, there.

Yes, apparently members of the press entered the room with them. Which... troubles me.

I saw footage of one of the "activists" speaking. Her English accent was so posh that it rivaled certain denizens of Buckingham Palace.

I hope someone will look into whether she travels by private jet before deciding whether or not to take her message seriously.

I watched a video this morning and the posh accent was the first thing I noticed. Poor museum janitors who had to mop the floor after their dumb stunt.

People are such idiots.

Funded by some US millionaire idiots, what a surprise.

Wait - which group specifically?

The activists both need to mop floors - in a maximum security prison.

Not joking. Only a lengthy prison term in someplace serious (ie not some country club prison or halfway house) will deter crazy people like these 2 posh activists.

Why? Her methods might be dumb (I'd agree that they are), but the idea that climate change is a threat to take seriously is either true or it isn't and whether or not a particular self described climate activist is an idiot or a hypocrite or both doesn't have any impact on the truth of the message.

Because anyone who uses a private jet while preaching about climate change is someone who isn't actually as concerned with climate change as they claim to be, which in turn suggests that they have ulterior motives which invalidate the credibility of their messaging.

+1
I believe in climate change and I am sure the activist fervently does too. But I am routinely floored at the hypocrisy of rich “thought leaders” who live in huge houses and fly all around the world all the time lecturing people that they need to do X or y small things to save the planet.

These two pp's said it best. I'm not interested in being lectured on doing even more to conserve resources by Matt Damon, the BRF, or anyone who owns more than one small home or takes a private jet.

Spilling milk and blocking traffic so people use even more resources and create even more environment damaging emissions is counter-productive to the cause. Plus they're making it harder for people who have to get to their jobs because they have to work to feed their families. Spoiled little narcissists who pull these publicity stunts.

These people blocked traffic in D.C. just the other week.

So just because some rich elites have a perspective then you have to discredit the cause itself? Rich people donate to homeless shelters too so should we mock homeless people as a result?

People spilling milk = Max security prison

Entitled selfish people raping our planet for profit and causing climate change = carry on nothing to see here…. hey look over there at those entitled activists trying to do something productive!

I agree that protesting like this may not be the best use of time but I don’t doubt the intent and desire to do the right thing by the perpetrators. Good people can do misguided things for good reasons. Still better than those who keep consuming and mocking the cause of climate change.

Since cows belch and fart greenhouse gasses, am I not doing the planet a favor by eating cow?
