William and Mary

Most of these are not easy to get into. WF and Villanova have 32%/31% acceptance rates. Also, as spomeone who is from WORCESTER it pains me when people say Worchester. It is not even pronounced like there is an H in there.

Wake had a 20 percent acceptance rate for 2026

Wake doesn't have the highest stats, though.

Perhaps, but there are other schools on here with stats that are generally higher, like William and Mary and Rochester.

Those three schools have almost identical SAT ranges

W&M mid SAT 1520/1360 with 51% of enrolled students submitting. Wake mid 50 SAT is 1480/1380 with 23% submitting. W&M ACT is 34/31 with 19% of enrolled students submitting. ACT mid 50 is 33/30 with 32% submitting. So I'd say W&M is a bit higher.

Rochester's CDS is messed up. It appears the ACT score shows up in the SAT row and there are no SAT scores shown. But it says only 22% submitted SAT and 7% ACT, so the scores aren't going to be very representative of enrolled students.

Not sure SAT/ACT score comparison means much for Wake, as it really doesn’t not consider them much, having been test optional way before Covid.

On what basis can we really tell how qualified the enrolled students are?

+1

Yes. I look at the data behind the stats that are out there and I wonder. Most students don't have class rank submitted, and the percentage is very low (approximately 20%) at selective privates. Most schools are test optional, so only those with high scores are submitting, and the percentage of enrolled submitting can vary widely and can be as low as in the teens at reputable schools. Clearly this isn't representative of the student body as a whole. GPAs vary from school district to school district, which makes them very difficult to compare, but are also going up due to rampant high school grade inflation, particularly at public schools in relatively wealthy areas. Acceptance rates are highly influenced by school campaigns to drive up applicants, regardless of whether they are qualified.

Not super hard to get into -- this will depend (in part) on what your DC's stats are.

Her first choice is Miami

I have no skin in the game-I wouldn’t send a girl to FL right now, honestly

Why drag him into it?

Is your objection to my stance on sending girls to states with regressive social policies, particularly wrt women’s reproductive rights?

Or do you think the son of God hates Miami?

Tulane. However, Louisiana’s abortion laws are horrific.

How about Marist in NY or Fairfield University?

Good suggestions and while we're talking about Fairfield U - also consider Sacred Heart University also in Fairfield CT. Fits size OP is looking for. Good acceptance rate. They have an influx of funding, growing a lot
