Bingo. It's truly amazing the level of stupidity I see here daily. My *husband* did the same thing for *me* the other day - I was driving and he got out to get coffee for us. And the other person who said that Gingrich would be mobbed is correct. This is simple common sense, something completely lacking on this forum.

No one mobs them. He looked so old when I last saw him. Like seeing a ghost.

Surprised people don't tell him off in public. And her hair color is awful.

My mom shouted at him from across the Tidal Basin once but he was too far away and didn't hear it.

I think he wishes peo0ple would mob him in public! It's hard to be irrelevant.

Bad look to send C out to get coffee with that boot.

The people in the McLean Starbucks are going to mob has been Newt Gingrich? That is laughable. I might have "accidentally" knocked over his coffee.

He seems like that type of guy. Assume he will divorce her like the others if she doesn't.

Drive a bit further to a drive-thru Starbucks for coffee if neither wants or is able to get out of the car. It was a real sh#thead move to send his wife with the bum leg.

No.no
No. His first wife had cancer and he served her with divorce papers in hospital so he could marry 2nd wife, Mary Ann (I think is her name). Newt didn't think she had the right look to be first lady and she was diagnosed with MS. Calista is very religious and was singing in a choir but having an affair with a married Newt. (,This is why Newt kept quiet about Clinton.)

She deserves to be treated like his lackey. Both are despicable.

Newt kept quiet about Clinton? That’s an interesting take.

Mobbed by crowds of very strong men with tears in their eyes, no doubt.

No, they're here. They simply want to trash Gingrich and wife for doing exactly what they themselves do. It's the DCUM way.

Speaking of laughable... or rather, pathetic and childish.

I don’t drink crappy coffee that tastes of burnt beans. Cheat on my spouse. Or drive a SUV favored by leaders of drug cartels.

No, you misunderstand. Numbers of us HAVE done this, but...not when our passenger is wearing a boot. Try to keep up.

In McLean this morning. Anyone see this slime?

He's driving a 10 year old 2013 Cadillac Escalade. They both seem extremely pretentious, very surprised they haven't upgraded to something newer.

It’s the last year of the Hybrid. You’d rather him upgrade to a non hybrid?

It's not actually a hybrid in the way you think, you don't plug it in and it doesn't have electric power only mode for around town. The new, 2023 Escalade actually gets far better mileage than this decade old "hybrid" rig. Those GM era "hybrids" were worthless, they were quickly discontinued, they are now obsolete and very expensive to fix. I'm surprised he's driving that old thing around -- unless they have money troubles. It would seem a GOP tax guru miser and business owner like him would realize it's more advantageous to buy a new Escalade, if he likes them. At his age and wealth, who wants to deal with a decade old complex Cadillac breaking and being in the shop. Plus the new one has heated, cooled, messaging seats, which I'm sure the hobbled missus would appreciate.

You might want to check your figures on that.

Seeing how my husband drives a 2022 Escalade, I speak on good authority.

2022 Escalade
21 city / 27 highway

2013 Escalade Hybrid
20 city / 23 highway

I guess we will disagree on the definition of "far better." If the 2013 is still running well, there's no reason to upgrade for an additional 1 mpg. Drive it until the first major repair and then get rid of it.

11% better combined mpg in a gas guzzling V8 which requires premium fuel is far better by any definition. And a 10 year old bankrupt era GM Cadillac feels terrible. The new one is exponentially better. And I’m also sure that decade old Hybrid rig has already had major service is.

She's going to be divorce #3 if she doesn't hop to it.

I once saw Newt and his wife at a book event for his wife at Mount Vernon. Newt Gingrich truly does look like a pile of mashed potatoes poured into a suit. Maybe he sent his hobbling, booted limping wife because he's in even worse shape?

This isn’t terrible fuel economy for a three ton American luxobarge using cutting edge tech from 2009. You could get something similar from a Saturn Outlook AWD with a 3.0 liter V6.
