Florida is worse than a third world country

The snakes and alligators aren’t just in the statehouse!

Florida is the stinking foot of our country.

This. I’ll never understand why Florida went so pathetically bad. It has geography and climate on its side not to mention international shipping. It really should have been an economic giant.

She’s in one of those high-rise apartment building like the one that collapsed due to failed inspections and I hate it! Nothing changed after all those people were killed.

Sure she’ll be able to afford a nice tent in Cali.

No one calls California “cali”, PP. The salary increases will cover the differences in rent - and for apartments that don’t fall down! Imagine that!

I’m not taking sides in a California vs. Florida debate. They both have their pros and cons and are large enough to have better and worse areas. However, I have to question the assertion that apartments don’t fall down in California, proving its superiority, when California is known to have earthquakes that can topple buildings, including apartments. I think in both states, the incident rates of toppling apartments are relatively rare, but subjectively, lacking hard data, I’d worry more about it in California.

Dude, that condo complex in Miami just fell apart. There was no earthquake, no hurricane, not even a blustery day. It simply collapsed from sub-standard material and exceptionally poor government oversight.

I literally took math in a windowless classroom that was so crammed with desks we literally had to climb over them. We had classes in portables that were out of date and leaked in the rain (which is pretty much every day in Florida).

And I lived in a "good" suburban area outside Orlando.

Hate to break it to you, but McLean the best rated area has these terrible portable classrooms and is in disrepair check this Instagram account

Does McLean hire veterans and their spouses with some college credits and a 2.5 GPA to teach students in the public schools?

+100000000. This really is true when you think about it. Florida could have been Hawaii or California. Instead they chose to be a sad part of a dying south.

Um, I’m a Nova teacher in a windowless classroom that leaks. The desk are so crammed in they are touching and you can barely walk between the rows. We have a mice issue too. What you described is public education. Crowded classrooms that need maintenance.

Another Nova here. I know a family that moved to Fla during pandemic. My cousin and his family. They just moved back to Va. Lost money unloading their house of 2 years. Fla is a hot mess, including that knucklehead governor.

There's no way anyone who sold a house in Florida in the past year that they bought in 2020 lost money on it. I suppose it's possible they way overpaid in 2020 but that would kind of make them a hot mess, not Florida.

I have to agree with this. I parachute in here from an affluent town in a western state admittedly due to my own issues which include procrastination, schadenfreude and voyeuristic tendencies. I should be doing something healthier with my time instead of indulging in DCUM "striver porn".

Have you been to Mississippi?

Florida is a weird place... I live here, so I would know. I'm sorry, but there are many dysfunctional, dumpy, dud people who live here who would be chased out of major cities and civilized places. A lot of the people here are crazy, very "middle american" and just unhinged

People act like DC is some high end area, it's a fake ass place with random transplants passing through. I am born and raised in nova.
