Thank you. FWIW, the lawyer told me I probably didn't even need him (no criminal record, first time driving without a license, etc), but I am paying for the peace of mind. He seemed to indicate it would be dismissed and told me not to worry. I then contacted the police who issued the citation for a copy, and they told me the same thing. I feel marginally better. Appreciate it.

Really not sure why people felt compelled to say I'd be spending two years in prison.

Why haven’t you responded to everyone instructing you to get your license renewed asap? Have you done that? Are you planning to? Is there a reason you aren’t acknowledging that repeated advice?
